外籍美女的北京生活：打泰拳做瑜伽骑小牛

　　Having lived in China for almost 10 years， I have a rather settled lifestyle and have built a life that enables me to do all the things I enjoy. Besides my work as a producer at a Chinese creative agency， I try to lead a busy and active life – working out is a big part of that. I am a qualified yoga instructor and have been practicing yoga since I moved to China， as well as having a keen interest in muay thai. I like to stay fit and for me yoga and muay thai is my perfect workout combination as it keeps both my body and mind healthy and active.

　　Over the years I have seen many things in Beijing change， the city skyline， my circle of friends （as people eventually leave the city to return home）， the job market and the convenience and increasing presence of technology in a city that seems to never sleep. There are few things that surprise me anymore， or so I thought – until I received my NIU U1 as a Christmas present from my boyfriend last year. I believed my lifestyle to be already pretty convenient and flexible， but after receiving my NIU scooter， a whole new world of opportunities opened up. I have always led a busy social life and often fill my weekends and evenings with various activities and events. But since owning a NIU scooter， I have a new level of freedom I didn’t know was possible. It enables me to go wherever I want， whenever I want， at a seconds notice. My NIU brings me so much independence that I’m honestly not sure how I was ever able to live without it for so long.

　　多年来，我看到北京有很多变化，城市建筑物、我的朋友圈（人们最终离开这个城市回家）、就业市场以及在一个似乎从来不会睡觉的城市中的便利和越来越多的技术。很少有事情让我感到惊讶，但是直到去年我从男朋友那里收到我的小牛 U1作为圣诞礼物。我认为我的生活方式已经非常方便和灵活，但在收到我的小牛电动车后，一个全新的充满机会的世界开启了。我一直过着繁忙的社交生活，经常在周末和晚上参加各种活动。但是自从拥有小牛电动车以来，我有了一个我过去认为是不可能的新的自由度。它让我可以随时随地前往任何我想要的地方。我的小牛给我带来了更多的独立性，老实说，我不确定这段时间如果没有它我该如何生活。

　　Part of my job， whether it’s creating a product marketing strategy or putting on a launch event， involves putting myself in the shoes of the consumer. The user experience， whether navigating a website， using a product， or attending an event is a key consideration and requires fully understanding the needs of the customer. The failure to do so can mean the difference between the success or failure of a brand， product or experience. Therefore， user experience is an aspect I have always keenly observed both inside and outside the office.

　　Having ridden my NIU scooter daily （excluding time spent outside the country） for 8 months straight now， the user experience has been nothing but smooth and enjoyable. I can see that the company has taken time to truly understand the needs of its users and have created a product that from an aesthetic and functional standpoint ticks all the right boxes.

　　我每天骑着我的小牛电动车（不包括在国外度过的时间），连续8个月了，用户体验一直是顺畅和愉快的。我觉得，这个公司已经花时间真正了解了其用户的需求，并创造了一种产品，从美学和功能的角度来看，所有方面都是如此。

　　As a first time scooter owner， and having had limited experience driving let alone riding one， it was important to me that the bike looked good， but also was easy to use. Beijing’s streets can be pretty hectic， and you can often find yourself being squeezed between other motorists and cyclists. It’s important to me that I always feel safe on my NIU， but that it’s also easy to maneuver. It’s extremely light and nimble， making anything from parking to turning corners effortless. The bike feels extremely sturdy and solid， yet as a lightweight and agile bike， gives me freedom to whizz around this bustling city.

　　第一次作为电动车的车主，没有一个人驾驶的经验，对我来说重要的是电动车看起来不错，也很容易使用。北京的街道有时候非常繁忙，你经常会发现自己被其他驾驶者和骑自行车的人碾压了。重要的是，我觉得小牛很安全，它也很容易操作。它非常轻巧灵活，可以轻松地从停车场转弯到拐角处。这辆电动车非常坚固和牢靠，而且作为一款轻巧灵活的电动车，我可以自由地在这座繁华都市周围玩耍。

　　Parking in Beijing， particularly in crowded areas is never an easy task， whether you own a car or a scooter. As I often spend the weekend or weeknights in Sanlitun， owning such a slim bike， makes not only navigating the traffic so much easier but finding a parking space is never a huge struggle – one I suspect that exists for many owners of large heavy scooters. I don’t need to spend lots of time finding a big parking space – pretty important for me as I’m often late meeting friends so time often really is of the essence！ Once I arrive at my destination， I often pull up and park in seconds – no last minute frustrations.

　　My general riding experience of the bike is also very comfortable. From the seat， to the space I have for my legs and feet （including space for my work or workout bag）， to use of the handle bars feels very natural. The throttle and brake are extremely smooth to use， and the display between the handle bars is also easy to read. I have always felt fully in control of my bike and as a first time rider， the user experience has always felt very intuitive and effortless. This has always been important to me， given that riding in Beijing can sometimes feel unpredictable and chaotic.

　　电动车的骑行体验总体很舒服。从座椅到我的腿和脚的空间合适（包括我的活动的空间或放健身包），使用把手也感觉非常自然。油门和制动器使用非常顺畅，车把之间的仪表盘也很容易阅读。我能够完全控制着电动车，第一次作为骑手，用户体验让人感觉非常直观和轻松。这对我来说真的很重要，因为在北京骑行有时会有很多无法预测和复杂的交通。

　　I also love the ability to add accessories to the bike. The windshield has been an absolute life-saver in the freezing winter temperatures and has made a huge difference. It means I can still ride my bike during the colder months without freezing to death！ I also have a seat on the back behind the main passenger seat which is perfect for my boyfriend or friends who want a lift. During the weekends I explore the city with my boyfriend – this has really made our summer and given us so much freedom to explore the city together or head to the park when the sun is out. My boyfriend hasn’t been in Beijing as long as I have， so with the bike it now means I can show him all the parts of the city I love. After one of my weekly yoga classes I also often drop a friend home who attends the class and whose apartment is on my way home. The seat definitely brings a social aspect to the bike and has enabled me to share the experience with people close to me.

　　Another big aspect of what makes the user experience so seamless is the NIU app. Even when I’m not on my bike I always feel connected to it. I always know where it’s located thanks to the GPS function， and if it’s moved I receive a notification immediately. This always gives me peace of mind， particularly if I’m out of town for a few days either traveling or on a work trip. Through the app I can also check other information such as how much battery I have left or my ride history.

　　Overall， there are many features that I love about my scooter. Both professional and personally， I have always felt that products and experiences that don’t put the customer first fail to offer real value to the end user. I can’t fault the user experience and I have a lot of respect for NIU for creating a product that offers such a seamless and well-thought out user journey.

　　My Niu has brought so much more freedom and additional independence to my life – whether it’s the new places I want to explore with my boyfriend， the yoga or muay thai classes I want to attend， or the friends I want to meet， the opportunities now feel endless.

　　Many of my friends own a Niu and like me， also feel like they can’t live without it. It means we can suddenly decide to meet for an unplanned dinner， or attend an event we didn’t realize was on until last minutes notice. Lunch times at work have also become a lot more enjoyable – my colleague and I often pop out to our favourite restaurant and are back within the hour - something that previously wasn’t possible. I am also a member of a vibrant wechat Niu community group with several hundred members – it’s a great place to meet other Niu owners， and we are constantly offering each other useful tips or sharing Niu related information. 我的很多朋友都拥有一个像我一样的小牛，也觉得他们也是离不开它。这意味着我们可以突然决定参加一次无计划的晚宴，或参加直到最后一分钟才通知我们的活动。工作中的午餐时间也变得更加愉快 - 我的同事和我经常出现在我们最喜欢的餐厅，并在一小时内回来 - 以前是不可能的。我也是一个充满活力的微信牛社区团体的成员，这里拥有数百名成员 - 这是一个与其他小牛车主交流的好地方，我们不断提供有用的提示或分享小牛的相关信息。

　　And then there are my friends who don’t own a Niu. They are the ones who， after having had dinner together， unfortunately are still waiting for a taxi in Sanlitun whilst I’ve already arrived safely home. They are also the friends that need a little bit more notice if the occasion for an impromptu lunch or dinner arises. That used to be me – but now， with my life with Niu， there is no going back 我也有一些没有小牛的朋友。在一起共进晚餐后，他们仍然在等待三里屯的出租车，而我已经安全到家了。还有一些需要更多关注的朋友，会出现在即兴午餐或晚餐，这曾经也是我的状态 - 但现在，与小牛的生活，再也不像以前一样。
